Its been awhile...but from what I recall they take the animals at the Kona airport (or any other direct flight airport) and fly them to Honolulu where they are kept in quarantine for up to 120 days unless arrangements are made in advance so that they can be held on the Big Island facility. But I believe they still have to be processed through Honolulu before they can do their time on an island closer to where you live and can visit your annimal daily. I believe they charge $75.00 one way for an animal and yes hawaiian does transport animals
