I lived in Alaska for 30 years before retiring here in Hawaii and Alaska uses the County (or State) Fairs as a political avenue for residents to get to meet and talk to the people that are running for office. They have booths intermixed throughout the fairgrounds with bumper stickers, hats, tee shirts, written info of where all the candidates stand on different issues....etc etc. In fact..I believe its done like this in alot of other states.
Why can't something like that be done here? Just plan the county fair a few weeks "before" an election. You just may get a larger voter turnout come election day!
It sure beats hand waving along the side of a 55mph highway. Thats an accident waiting to happen and a lawsuit the county doesn't want to have to pay
