Sustainability and self sufficiency have meaning

1. little to no eating out if possible.
2. entertainment: we do not do that much any way.
3. buy in bulk.
4. buy local if possible.
5. garden as much as possible.
6. we're not allowed to raise chickens or any other farm animals .
7. move to the big island if possible to do number 6 above.
8. we share with the neighbors as much as possible even though they don't reciprocate.

"I feel that this down turn may be good for us all. Bring us back to reality. That a little hard work is more important that the size of your pension and keeps you healthier too. Maybe families are going to have to live together (tutus, parents and kids). Isnt that how it used to be."
