Not saying Captain Cook was good. He was probably a fine man, but he began the degradation of the islands. So, I think it would have been morally correct to kill him on sight. If transported back in time, I probably would have gladly wielded the club. I also agree with the sentiments of the whalers that used to fire cannonballs at the churches in Lahaina (the churches made the women put long frocks on whereas before they walked around with their gifts on display). To be fair to Captain Cook he was quite accomplished and a great adventurer. Someone would have happened a long if not him. It was inevitable. Still, he took the theft of his boat a little stronger than an islander might have. Hawaii was more of a collective back then. You can't steal anything in a collective.
