Leilani used to be a scary place to have to go to. Truly. What cleaned up the place was a strong community watch, police assistance, and neighbors being aware of neighbors. It wasnt all that long ago - 1997 maybe - that people did have guns and dogs and ice/meth whatever. Now look at it. The one thing the Community policing officer told us was when leilani was cleaned up the crack heads scattered to other subdivisions.
Maybe if we worked on our communities issues with drugs and (NO NOT THE 420 kine so dont get your knickers twisted) had some decent recovery programs and education that might also help. Clear out the problems in HPP and some other subdivision will be crying "under attack" next without some real preventive infrastructure.
