We all live on the flanks of the most active volcano in the world. I don’t really think it matters much where you call home on either of the two east side volcanos.
Think about it in 84 when Mauna Loa opened up and the lava stopped 3 +/- miles from Hilo.
Do you think that those folks thought they would be devastated by a flow?
We all know the risks of living here so……………..pick a spot and don’t worry about it.
We live in LZ 2 and had no problem getting insurance including hurricane.
