You can get appliances at Sears, pay $60 or $70 for delievery and then mail in a rebate form and get it back (sometimes minus $10). We bought several appliances at different times and always got the rebate, however I don't think it's something you can rely on all the time. You have to wait till they run the rebate program.
I have found consistently that major appliances (fridges, washing machines, dishwashers, etc) are around $100 more expensive in Hawaii, as someone has to pay the shipping costs one way or the other.
