While I don't know any details of the incidents mentioned, I find it interesting that his complaints about tabloid gossip posing as journalism are the same as others have mentioned.
Zendo meant this comment as a public statement, so I think it is all right to highlight amd repost it, as it was not some private comment made with little expectation that people would notice it.

Too bad Zendo isn't running again. He seems to have been the most sane person to represent Puna in a good while and it appears he won't be matched in the near future.

No wonder we can't have anything nice in Pahoa.
Yes it seems there is a feud now not just between Zendo and Tiff but Zendo and Graham Ellis too. Something about an alternative building code. Promises not kept... if you read between the lines. Did Zendo introduce any legislation in his term? Well I am just seeing if you all know and can spare me a trip to the public documents.

Sativa,
quote:
"It is easy to look at the obscure and minuscule like me calling punaweb a 'blog' instead of a 'forum' and ignore the substance of the post. I am a newbie so forgive me and lets move on."
I think honesty and truthfulness shouldn't be overlooked. You quoted RJ, but now say they were your words, while confirming they were aimed at people on Punaweb. The substance of the post was insulting and patronising to people who post here.

Aloha, I am a long time Puna resident and reader of the Punaweb Forum and have often found its topics interesting and useful. This is however the first time I've felt compelled to respond to a topic because I simply don't recognize in these pages the Tiffany Edwards Hunt I know and admire.
Anyone who has ever served their community as a volunteer understands well the enormous amount of time, energy, and commitment required to accomplish anything and Ms. Hunt has accomplished an extraordinary amount for her community over the past several years. To name only a few of her many contributions:
Ms. Hunt is a founding member of the Pahoa Booster Club and wrote the grant in aid application which has just resulted in a $92,000 award to reestablish the football program in Pahoa High and Intermediate School. She is a past president of the Puna Community Medical Center board and was instrumental in acquiring $40,000 of grant money for its start-up operations. She is the president of Mainstreet Pahoa Association and wrote the grant that paid for the Passport to Pahoa brochure as well as writing the brochure text.
I also respect Ms. Hunt's grass roots, low budget style campaign. She is out in our communities meeting folks, listening to their concerns and accepting only small donations. This reassures me there will be no special interest groups standing behind the curtain pulling strings and telling her what to say and how to vote as a County Council member. Her enthusiasm and passion for local issues is the kind of county representation I want. I will be voting for Tiffany Edwards Hunt in the upcoming primary election and I will be urging others to do the same. Thank you.

Can anyone tell me what she stands for? "Planks" I asked her directly and she couldn't tell me.....
