Pigs
#11
Caught a piglet the first day..... let it go. My dog Sandy thought she had a new playmate and chased it all around until t burowed into a hole. She came home within an hour and flopped down on her bed and went to sleep without dinner. No sign of the piglet next day... however there was a 100 pounder in the trap next morning. Hilodiver came, dispatched it and took him home for cleaning and smoking. Trap is reset. I am hoping for a 200 lb boar with tusks! Wooo hoooo...

I want to be the kind of woman that, when my feet
hit the floor each morning, the devil says

"Oh Crap, She's up!"

After "processing", today's pig had excellent quality meat with just the right amount of fat! Better make some more room in your freezer...More Smoked Meat!

Hilodiver. Where does the hunted pig meat usually get sold? I know a family that sells lau lau that they make from the meat, on the side of the road, but where else can a nonhunter go to buy some?

Kulana Foods in Hilo sells wild boar meat, along with local sheep, lamb & beef... they also do slaughter & butcher service for those that need it. It is also possible that some of your neighbors may share their hunt, we have one neighbor that is always willing to share when they butcher.
