Pineapples with seeds

I read once that if different types are planted together you'll get seeds, such as yellows and whites. Otherwise you won't. Not sure if that is true. My mixed patch gives me ones with small seeds. I'm going to,try to propagate the seeds and sees what happens. I'm thinking a yellow/white hybrid would be perfect.

Thanx for your replies! I just read on the internet that if different varieties are planted together you'll get seeds. I'm trying to germinate some right now, but no success yet!
