Nothing wrong with using your old one as-is. No need for the cooling portion to be working.

click could also be a normal relay function - shorts tend to pop breakers - gfi will blow before an internal fuse will

if you have a link to the schematics I can offer insight - if not use a voltmeter too trace out the fault.

compressors rarely short out.

Mr Winkle:

Any chance you would be open to have me pay you for your time to take a look at said machine for your technical judgement? If that is something you are willing to do I can bring the machine around to wherever you suggest.

And that ain't no Bull Smile

Do you own a refrigerator? Try a pitcher of water a bunch of 1 gallon jugs of water in the bottom shelf of the fridge. I use 4 1 gallon plastic milk jugs that work great for me. I put three on the bottom shelf, and one on the top for easy access. When it get's empty I pull a new jug from the bottom to the top and slide the other two over so I always have fresh, cold water to drink.

Water Coolers can suck down (depending one use) about half a killawatt a day. That adds up in a hurry with our power rates. That's about half of what my refrigerator uses alone.

I noted you # so if you like you can remove it from the post to keep it from the search engines.

Make and model? ..... I'll see if I can find a service manual and whether it has a it has a "board" and circuitry

schematics save 99% of the work.

Not sure about Oasis. The logo on the front says Addi. Unfortunately I didn't keep the original paper work.

Edited to add: The unit in question has cooled and room temperature water delivery. It doesn't have a heated water feature.

Here is a unit much like yours and does hot water as well for $99.00 I think its really easy to spend a 100.00 on parts and shipping. Think it makes sense to replace it? In the meantime I havent been able to find addi / culligan parts or prints anywhere ....
