My repairman taught me to cross check everything on Amazon to ebay. I've been noticing ebay appears to have a much better selection on the items I order and some free shipping. Although many do not ship to Hawaii, grrrr, which feels like it is wasting too much of my time to click on an item and no, no, no ship to Hawaii. What did we do to them?, lol. Customer service is now impressive at ebay with money back guarantee. They must be trying to compete with Amazon. If they would just insist on Hawaii shipping from their vendors.....

Not everthing on prime on Amazon shipped to Hawaii now . It does not matter street address or po box.

Amazon is increasingly using International Bridge dba Parcel Pool. Their ultimate plan is to handle delivery from the warehouse to your door using their own or contracted drivers instead of USPS, Fedex, or UPS.

Amazon is taking a heavy hit from Prime free shipping, it has been in the financial news for several months now. It would make sense for them to have end point contracted delivery trucks -- no driver. A truck to door delivery person won't have to be CDL. Within 5 years. Amazon is working on all this stuff in the background while trying to streamline the existing distribution pipeline. These pre-peak oil years are going to bring the cost of transportation down gradually. That takes the fuel cost pressure away from Amazon and they will tend to use USPS as much as possible, UPS second for free shipping. Fedex has always been there, you pay for time. Some companies just don't ship to Hawaii, going way back, it isn't something new. Others charge high direct shipping. You have to look at the full description, if it says "From Amazon", not "Fulfilled by" or "Direct" and is it a Prime item.

For all intents and purposes Amazon has mostly done away with the old Prime to Hawaii. Now things that are free 2 day shipping the mainland typically hold without being shipped for at least a week, then meet their 7 business day standard, often meaning 11-12 actual days. Doesn't matter if you check to send each item as it becomes available. Quite often it takes longer than 7 business days to arrive. I've asked for credit on chat and in several cases they extended my Prime renewal date by 1 month each time.

Placed an order for two items with Amazon, asked that they are shipped together by Free Shipping (not Prime) Sunday, September 6: Received shipping confirmation from Amazon this morning and tracking number, on a Sunday, on a Labor Day weekend
