HAAS has a campus there for 3-5 graders. I sure hope they are taking all necessary precautions with the kids.

I wouldn't mind hearing some feedback about the green papaya leaf juice which is supposed to help.

The Charles Trippy report is the first that made it to the news (interestingly, the NATIONAL news picked up the story two days before the local news....

However the state DOH has reported that the first locally acquired case of Dengue was in mid SEPTEMBER, over one month before there was a high stakes bloggers paid-in-full adventure with Alisons Adventures at Alison Teals parents Hookena retreat, so to blame this group for bringing Dengue here is not accurate.

The fact that the state allowed the Dengue infestation to go on almodt 1.5 months before alerting the public, and only alerting the public AFTER the youtube went national?...Well I think you know who I think the clowns in this case are...

If you would really like to get upset, how about the fact that the state legislature approved adding two more vector control technicians in June & our DOH only got around to posting the employment notice for the vector control technicians over the December holidays (posted Dec. 17-31) when many qualified applicants may not have been actively looking for the position?

How about the $75-100K "fight the Bite" campaign (given to the Bennet Group in Honolulu) that has utilized 2 decade old material that was utilized in Midwest Mosquito Abatement District programs?

How about the fact that the DOH seems to not have asked the legislature for any emergency funds for more control efforts?

They were in Dengue infested areas just prior to arriving here. Could be like the Zika birth in Oahu, but actually acquired in Brazil.

I've been reading about Dengue control in other countries and it seems government is much more involved and proactive. In some areas where it has been successfully eradicated, traps were passed out to all the homes and businesses courtesy of their taxes dollars. Seems logical to me.

I carry repellent in my bag at all times now.

Pretty girl I was cavorting with in 2001 in Thailand was ranting about it ... since then various forms of flesh eating bacteria four times (Three were Hawaii strains) ... never Dengue, or perhaps I had it and never really noticed.

Anyone know if this application ever became a reality?

Has Japan ever had any Dengue outbreaks?

P.S. Don't know if I trust to many ideas or projects that both our Governor and mayor think are good for us at this point?
