Highway 11 construction
#11
Point well taken re: junk and toxic trees. That was accomplished long ago and they could have been replaced with non-invasives but now it seems inscrutable what they are make-work doing.

The University of Hawaii funded the construction of a traffic signal at this location for the agriculture research park.

Let me run that through Google Translate:

The University of Hawaii Taxpayers funded the construction of a traffic signal at this location for the agriculture research park purpose of slowing down thousands of working commuters trying to get to, or from their jobs. To pay for a traffic light that will be used by a few dozen research park workers.

UH has any number of unfunded and underfunded programs and building maintenance needs, but somehow they have to spend what must be millions on this? Aaron, do you know how much this traffic light is costing us? I did several searches and couldn't find it.

Jas Glover was lowest bidder for this project, but there must've been an issue with their bid. Isemoto was ultimately awarded the project

Apparently it's only a 2.6 million dollar project..

So it's already over budget.

Let's not put a catwalk over Kawili st. So students don't have to risk their lives getting to their dorm.. or anything.

Or upgrade the antiquated central air conditioning system. You know the chiller building over by the UCB that is constantly broken? Or enough parking for the gym area. Or wifi that reaches campus wide. Or fix the library. Or heaven forbid a scholarship or three!
