Benefit Concert for the Pohoiki Shooter 9/8/2017
#11
I'm starting to think this may lead to some new ideas about dealing with crime here. How about our local bus thief be punished to watching Cliff Richard's "Summer Holiday" non-stop for a year? He could invite friends for a summer holiday fund raising benefit with the money going to good causes on the island.

That was my plan.

So does anyone have the details of what went down? I'm sure there are several sides of the story...

Cheers,

The benefit is partially for Gerald who got shot in the head and is still in the hospital.

Another thread that has given punaweb regulars an opportunity to show how compassionate you all are. Not that I know zip about the situation the family is in, but it doesn't look like any of you do either. So why be so mean? Maybe there's a mother and some kids that are suffering greatly because of the deeds of the father/husband. Maybe there are innocent people being chastised by heartlessness and they don't deserve any of it. Maybe there are real human beings in need of assistance. And I'll bet all of you think you are good kind generous people.

Thanks knieft for being a voice of reason.

Don't let that stop you from judging others...

Yes, if only more of us made comments based on reason rather than emotion, most of the time.

The Donner Party really wasn't that great of a party, was it?

The lolo that started the fight is out on bail
It might not be a safe place to be.

The poster says it's for (amongst other things) "legal fees". Why would I give a cent towards helping anyone who (allegedly) pulled out a gun in a public park and started firing, for whatever reason?
The family may be suffering but they're also turning up at court and shouting support for the guy. Good luck to them.

How much are you going to donate, glindakine? Oh, not that compassionate yourself after all?
