Yes, New Zealand is similar. I drove all over the North Island (about 1200 miles), in both cities and the country, and only saw a single stop sign the whole time I was there. Where a smaller road meets a larger one, the smaller road has a yield sign; where two equally large roads meet, there's a roundabout. Very simple and quick.

Unfortunately people here seem to have a hard time understanding the concept of roundabouts. There's one on my commute to work and some people who go there every day still treat the yield sign as a stop even when there's no one all around.

I wrote a letter against developing the roads. Let's keep country country.
