Question about police procedure
#11
I guess when you’re a cop, everyone’s a suspect?

Is this the normal procedure for HPD?

Normal procedures? They can’t even come up with basic standards ...

The Hawaiian Driver's License is now tied to ID requirements for TSA.
if you follow all ID requirements, you will receive a red colored license.
That will allow you use your DL as TSA ID.
I have a blue colored DL because I did not supply a valid copy of my SS card.
All I have is my original card supplied when I was 14.
It is over 60 years old and is not readable.
They would not accept it.

"I did not supply a valid copy of my SS card."

I went with an older friend who was in the same situation, and they accepted an IRS Form 1099 from Social Security. They also said they would take a W-2 or commercial 1099. County workers being what they are, YMMV.

Yes, those are all standard questions. In California they can no longer ask for SS# so that is the only difference here.

Technically they can only honor documents acceptable to the Federal REAL ID standards ... maybe we'll suffer the California problem, they issued licenses for a couple of years that were supposed to be compliant but weren't, because the Feds changed their minds.

That will allow you use your DL as TSA ID.

I use a TWIC for TSA checkpoints so I don't have to worry about whether my license is "valid for Federal purposes". Passport works too. REAL ID is a bunch of crap.

I was just reading that a TWIC isn't accepted by TSA.

Hawaii residents beware. Soon we will all have to prove we were born in America. Police State is upon us as Billionaires prey on our daughters. Michele Obama for President?!

Soon we will all have to prove we were born in America.

We already do.
Birth certificate required for a drivers license (prove you were born somewhere)
When you register to vote a drivers license and social security number are required
Last week I opened a new bank account and they asked if I was a US citizen.

Just to cut back on the hype, you don't need to be a US citizen to get a Hawaii driver's license nor to live and work here legally.
