Hi John,
Congratulations on your achievement. I just got my issue of PBN and read the write up. It's good to see recognition of companies that truly value people in addition to profits.
I've been hearing about this Mai Tai thing. Let us know if an east side celebration is in the works. :-)
Seriously - hat's off to you and your team.

Only two real estate companies made the list but the other one was also a "punatic" (#39 was Day-Lum from Hilo!) I don't have any projects going on on the East side now so I don't go there as often as I used to, but I certainly will bring a few bottles of Rabi Mai Tai to the next party!

Congratulations John!
Looks like they haven't rebanned me on konaweb yet. Maybe I can use my remaining space there to expound on the teachings of James Cramer esq.

Can't help but smile! I got into a heated discussion with someone at the award luncheon, he said money doesn't motivate people, big ideas do. Well, I told him try to tell your cleaning lady what a great idea you have for the company and she will think "Great, maybe I can get a raise from $10/hour to $11/hour then!"

I hope you're better than my realtor. Maybe I'll post my experience with him- in a tactful way of course????

John's the best, AND he's got a sense of humor! And post away on your experience, it's more interesting if you're not tactful.
This is just friendly banter!
Aloha

First, the realtor convinced me to bid my life savings $540k on a cute little cottage on 5 acres by Parker Ranch listing for $570 sight unseen- somehow it made sense in 2005. But the pictures were charming and my bid was promptly accepted.
Second, anxiously awaited the the walk-thru- flew over from Oahu couple weeks later on ominous grey dreary day- did the unthinkable and backed out when got back to Oahu the next day.
3rd, when the house was re-listed the description was "Back on the market. Buyer didn't produce." All I cared about was I got back my $5k upfront check- thanks realtor!
4th, they kept lowering the price on this house till it languished for 6 months at $450k till it delisted. Dying to ask my realtor how much it sold for but too embarassing- like pulling teeth.
So I almost spent my life savings at the time $540k on a house that eventually sold for $400k or whatever.
I'm not saying my realtor is dishonest- if anything he's so honest he's a cypher- doesn't add his $0.02 editorial comment. If you think that's bad the realtor before that wanted me to sign a blank droa- it's a jungle out there- especially in 2005! I've seen both these dudes mention positively on konaweb.
The outstanding descrepancy with this listing and the expertise here might explain what my realtor couldn't- no way the property was 5 acres- if you go by the fenceline along that muddy rutted driveway and orient it to the square shape of the property on the tmk it's more like quarter acre!! According to the droa the property had 11 corners- I call it creative plumb bobbing. I must be in the Twilight Zone!
ok I'm out- gotta get ready for the Goodwill Store Admission Day sale! Yes!!!
