Caution for all Re: Bagged Spinach
#11
Listening to the news, this spinach may have come from an organic farm & that E. coli cannot be completely washed off of spinach!
Any one with any packaged fresh spinach, even in a mix, are ask to not use it. (We had some, just hate to waste food....but don't wanna get sick)
Which brings up this, has anyone grown spinach here? is it prone to bolt? Is it favored by any buggies?

There is an amazing homeopathic medicine called "Liver Force." Someone dear to me with Hep C takes it (not as often as they should) but it comes from an incredible mushroom that is very healing to the liver. Just a suggestion, and I hope you feel better soon.-

Hi Nancy,

That is great that you have a definitive diagnosis now to work with. So you can move on toward healing yourself and knowing why it turned that way. So very important and a good message for the rest of us to hear apparently too. Smile)

This is not directed at you in any way, but if only the rest of us, myself included would do the same for our own liver health. It is amazing how much abuse our bodies take from what choices we make on food items, to how we take care of our world.

Environmental impacts that I was talking about in the other forum are one of the things worth pondering over. No doubt when you are building and finishing those new houses and you are breathing fumes for months from off gases, those kinds of things can have a relevance to your body. Paint can give off VOC for a long, long time as well as carpet etc.
Being asthmatic I have to be careful for everything like this, but those are the types of things along with air pollution etc. that very well cause asthma and other conditions. So many more people are suffering from allergies and asthma than before because of all the things we are doing to our environment. That is why I mentioned to folks about not using carpet. it doesn't last near as long as other flooring and it creates a very unhealthy environment where ever it is. Later after usage, it fills up lots of space in a landfill where it just sits there and does not break down. There is just so much more that we can do, so that the earth can heal itself also. I am afraid for later generations and how they might live if we keep going on with all of our ways of living and not thinking of how it impacts us later.

Did your Dr. give you any names/authors of books that you can share on what would be a help?

It is great to hear that you will soon be on your way to feeling better, now that you know how to work with it and are motivated to learning.

Aloha,
Lucy

Carrie,

I did find that product here (URL below), but not much literature on it. Do you know where there is more about it that perhaps Nancy can look into if she is interested?
http://www.liquidnutrition.ca/home/Brand...force.html

These are the mushrooms in the product:
Organic Turkey Tail (Coriolus versicolor) 422 mg **
Organic Zhu Ling (Polyporus umbellatus) 250 mg **
Organic Reishi Mycelium (Ganoderma lucidum) 124 mg **
Organic Cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis) 124 mg **
Organic Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) 40 mg **
Organic Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) 40 mg **

Don't know if Nancy is into considering herbal meds or not, but Claire Joslin of Multi Faccetted Homes there in Puna is a Chinese health herbalist, is what I believe she is called. I forget since it was so long ago that I saw her while touring the homes.

I don't know, Lucy. I had a whole book on the properties that our botanical person gave us before I purchased it. I acutally was able to buy it at Whole Foods here in Arizona.

The characteristics of one of the mushrooms was fascinating. If I remember correctly this mushroom tends to grow toward the light (very unusual for a shroom) rather than away from it. It has amazing regeneration qualities for the liver. There was other really fascinating stuff about this particular mushroom, too. With the move and packing and everything, I just can't tell you where it ended up (the book). I'm sure the manufacturer would have that information available.

I don't know about spinich, but collards grow well. Be careful though, the locals might mistake it for portugese cabbage.
