hawaiideborah, It felt that way to me because there was a little more to your post than that.

Care to respond to my controversial question? I think the military (pohakuloa) and the public (taxpayer) wil be discussing this issue soon.

I do not know about Hawaii history and warriors. I do know that gay warriors were among the most successful - in greece and many other cultures. My guess is dig a little and one will find the same result in early Hawaiian tribes or clans (Ohana)

I found this reference to Aikane:

Maybe Linda Lingle did not know this when she vetoed civil unions....

My favorite story about the missionaries is that the whalers started shelling the churches in Lahaina, because the ladies would no longer come out to the harbor to great them in the altogether -- the missionaries made them put on Mu-mus (sp?).

Sadly, the whalers lost that war.

Rob, I apologize for the previous joke. Glad you took it down. I think it's amazing that you are willing to do what you do and will do what I can to remain within the guidelines or not post at all. I've been nursing an injury so I think I've had a tad too much time on my hands.
Anyway, a great big Mahalo from me.

Glen,

Having been an old seafarer myself for years some of the finest memories are of being in another countries port on off time and sampling the local talents. It is defiantly the port that makes the country good or bad to a sailor. If I were the captain of one of those whalers the missions would have been leveled.
