They were almost ready to start laying eggs too. I would have bought them myself but thought about my money going to waste when my dog attacks them.

I saw those ducks. They had a sign that, along with the price, said, "NOT FOR CONSUMPTION, THIS IS A FAMILY!" That would be an awfully expensive duck dinner, so the price alone probably precluded them being eaten.
