Agreed,

260 posts at this moment, almost 8000 reads. How much of it is sensible or rational? 10 percent? 5 percent? 2 percent? Even among those who claim to be the bastions of peace and order? Obviously those who are ripping houses off aren't weight in. . .what is the value of this statistical sample?

I think there is a lot to be learned here if you read between the lines.

I agree, no viable solutions to the problem with HPP came from this thread. It seems all that came it was a lot of masturbation & accusations. We have also established that it's pretty much agreed upon that not everyone agrees with methods of home security/defense offered up here. It's a bit sad that we find ourselves even bickering over these methods offered up here on Punaweb.

18 pages of comments in 10 days! WOW

I hope someone has pointed out this website to the police department and of course to local politicians. Perhaps some good can come from all the exposure. Even the newspaper might be interested in this thread. Anyone have any contacts at the newspaper?

Good luck!

God, I'll never forgot the Rodney King fiasco. I was in LA in the federal lockup at the time surrounded by hundreds of pissed off African-Americans. That beating King took has stayed pretty much in my memory like it was yesterday. I don't know which was worse back then the King Beatings, or the Reginald Denny beatings...they both made me sick to my stomach! Pretty awful times back then huh brah?

Don't waste your time with the newspaper just tell the Kona tourism bureau, they are just itching for dirt on Puna to feed their tourists so god forbid they spend any precious money over here when they come to see the lava.

That sounds truthful. I see that I just made it to Malihini. Must be at 50 posts. Ainokea, I know what I am.

I think enough has been said on this thread. It isn't really helping to bring us together. We need to focus on what we have in common. I think the first step would be to lock this thread. If we don't build on common beliefs we won't get anywhere. Let's start a new thread based on what we all have in common and share ideas how resolve the problems we face in puna. I'm sure there are a lot of good ideas out there that could be implemented to solve our problems in puna. Let's turn something negative into something positive. Let's set the example for the rest of the island and not fall into the same old stuff, but rather accomplish something great that we can all be proud of and that we can all feel responsible for. Let's use punaweb to make puna a better community, an exemplary community known for it's positive aspects. The founding fathers had differences but they came together and created the constitution. If they can do that we surely can solve many of our local problems today too. Let puna be known as a place of love and respect, where honesty, hard work, and brotherly love are the glue that holds us together.

LOL... I disagree, If I wanted to mingle with a bunch of people that thought like me, I would. I prefer people not agree on the solution and throw out ideas no matter if they are good or bad.

You can start a thread on what we all have in common and it will quickly die. you do not get people out to do things if you don't get them involved, even a little, like posting what they thing about a subject. If you want an encyclopedia type forum, you will have people doing a lot of reading but no acting.

Of all the people posting ideas so far, I would not be afraid to ask for help with something that Puna needs done, even if they don't agree with it, I think they would help do or at least help make it better.

By the way... founding fathers took over 100 days to write the constitution... and they fought the whole time.
