We don't have to deal with the HWY 130 merge nightmare. We are lava zone 3. We have the world's largest known lava tube under our subdivision. Lots of entrances and is simply spectacular once inside the tube;

We have a great view. It's a weather nut's dream to see the weather system approach and move thru.

We have been planting since we got here and it's getting to look like a botanical garden. We created a series of water catchment tanks with fish and streams and we feel the same joy we had as kids being water engineers. Here it's easy to grow bananas, citrus and--with our greenhouse--all the tomatoes, zucchinis, cucumbers, etc. we can eat. We do sustainable organic farming here.

We have a flock of Finches that numbers in the thousands, wild turkeys and a flock of feral chickens that like to visit. HA has a reputation that keeps most low life out! We have never experienced any crime here. During emergencies everyone seems to come together to help each other. More a feeling of independence than a feeling of entitlement here.

Our pool parties bother no one. We have fantastic neighbors. Good cool sleeping weather and the list is endless. It is simply Paradise to live here!!

thank you lee. i was about to post the same thing. isn't it interesting how the positive outlook people see positive things and negative people find negative ones. i an going to assume that it was god that spared us rainyjim. Smile so, no we do not have a 'high' crime rate. nothing like it.

same as most here. like that I can sit in middle of our road (a dead end road) and play w/cat and dogs while waiting for GF to come home and not worry about speeding traffic or dead pets... can walk the whole length of our property naked and never care... lol.... like that many people who could ONLY buy and live in a place like HPP, dont like or ever want to live, drive through, or visit HA (big Big+).. like that people dont complain about the dusty roads making them have to wash their new SUVs every couple days... like the fact that we live basically in our own little park with nearly a mile of trails winding throughout the property, including a seasonal creek that flows a couple weeks/yr and a few lava tubes to explore...

save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha
