ironyak iam talking about all the construction job that being lost. The company's would put a lot of local people to work after construction I am happy you can grow your on food but most people dont the have means or ways to do this. After the county gives everyone a job you want have your land because you will be tax off it.

" I find it hard to see how HI can cut in on the large scale MJ operations in California, Colorado, and Canada given our distance from all the major market . IMO at least decriminalization will reduce any local funds being spent on largely useless eradication, enforcement, and incarceration actions."

I am All IN for decriminalization on both State and Fed. level and I want what you are saying to be true.
NOTHING would please me more than to see the Big Is. heavily invested in food crops. New ag parcels available in Puna as for example what Rudderman had suggested after the loss of so much of our land due to lava inundation .

I Love the organic farming operation that is occurring in Waianae. Absolutely gives me chicken skin to watch their videos.

Just find the "dispensaries", "expensive licenses", already taking place here along w/ certain corps. being traded and rising in value on the NYSE telling me a different story.

And as far as cutting into markets go......I'm from the generation of Maui wowie, labels still do matter.

I need a unicorn to pull my gmo free plow and a crystal oracle to consult with my sacred spirits about what time of the month to bury the horn, blood or placenta to ensure the best harvests.

@jwr - the unions & the TMT construction contracts are one of the unaccounted for factors in the current standoff. Given they are traditionally part of Harry's bloc, it'll be interesting to see how he works to protect or replace their interests in the project.

@reni - just like sugar, I think the distance is going to out-weigh the growing conditions when it comes to MJ. Local garden-to-grindz food pipelines (like those being setup with local schools) make more sense IMO. Oh, and Maui wowie is a strain that is already readily available in commercial MJ markets (despite not being grown in HI - we're a day late and a dime-bag short on this)

@rainyjim - sorry, the Puna unicorn was hand-made into cold-pressed soap and sold to mainland hipsters (still have crystals, oracles, and sacred spirits Natch)
