Off topic. Has anyone tried to raise wild turkeys (an oxymoron?), or perhaps domesticated turkeys?

The hen gazebo looked like fun! With a chicken coop you can be creative, the hens generally don't care if it is a box or a whimsical coop.
Our coop is up off the ground with a wire floor so we don't have to clean it since everything falls through the bottom. The hens have a lot of branches across the coop to perch on so they don't seem to mind the wire floor since they don't walk on it all the time. They sleep perched on the branches at night and come out during the day to forage and come up to the back window feeder. I've raised turkeys before and they are very sweet creatures. Inquisitive and always following folks around to see what is going on. Not real bright, but sweet natured. Tasty, too! Kurt Wilson |
