that they some how have to follow the constitution. And maybe any elected official that tries to push things past it is hung in the town square for treason. Ex: sheriff that says he doesnt care what the people of Hawaii voted for he will still push green harvest, tried for treason.

You can't expect the far-left politicians to respect the constitution any more than those on the far-right because those on the left are akin to Communists and the right are Fascists (although the terms do, on occasion, tend to represent the same goals - that being total domination of the state over its citizens)...
