Hawaii's Fastest 50! (Please don't let me wake up!

The market was hot in 2005 so if that house didn't sell it means it was vastly overpriced. Your realtor should have provided you with a CMA in advance. You certainly were working with a "Jack of All Trades" and those are the ones who give our industry a bad reputation. Asking you to sign a blank DROA should have given you a warning about the ethics of this person. I am glad you at least got your money back.

Somebody recomended him so somebody must like him. I didn't realize realtors are so sensitive about money- except for the ones on this board I hope. You might know I been banned for this before. But I couldn't stop laughing when he told me his only asset was 9 acres in the mountains. Don't go for the poor boy story. Everybody knows realtors are rich rich rich- ok maybe not so much these days.

Try teaching them to use the little icon with the pencil to edit instead of beating - more aloha that way Smile

I hope it's not 90%! I was going to post my story in the "Decline.." thread but it took a different turn.

I gotta add that my present realtor takes the opposite tack-"I don't need the money- I just like to help people." Obviously proves my theory about rich realtors.

Also I believe his recommendation in kw was from a genuine poster who also "doesn't need the money." Maybe that's the difference between his experience and mine- I'm trying to reach too far over my head for something that not meant to be. That's why I identify with the "Leaving Hawaii" people. When will those sellers ever begin to crumble???

I am not sure about the 90% but I am sure it is a large number. I have 17 agents and you would be surprised to learn that most REALTORS are not rich. 20% of the agents do 80% of the business and the average age of the top producers nationwide is 60 years old according to NAR. You should find an agent who looks at every transaction as a challenge instead of a money making opportunity.

David, maybe you know some of these people since I don't think Ninole's that big so I hope it works;

So far as my present realtor I'm not worried about the mechanics of possible title transfer- but any buyer-seller interactions since I only have his word to go by- gotta learn to say "no" instead of "ok ok yeah yeah". Actually I have an example of that with the first realtor but I've said enough.

Well, we made it again this year! Typically Tropical Properties has been ranked by the Pacific Business News as the 25th fastest growing small company in the State of Hawaii in 2006! (As you might recall, we were ranked #8 in 2005.) I received the Ho'oulu award in Honolulu yesterday. Making this list two years in a row is a huge accomplishment. A very special thank you to all my agents, clients, friends and business associates, we couldn't have done it without them!

Congratulations, John! I'm sure this feels so good to be appreciated. Obviously you and your company work very hard to please people and by the way you interact with people on this website, it is clear that you care very deeply about your work. Go you!!
