H1N1 is spelled martial law

They talk about it outloud as far i as can see

DIRECT Quotes from Obama's Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology:

Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.

Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control. Indeed, this would pose some very difficult political, legal, and social questions, to say nothing of the technical problems. No such sterilant exists today, nor does one appear to be under development. To be acceptable, such a substance would have to meet some rather stiff requirements: it must be uniformly effective, despite widely varying doses received by individuals, and despite varying degrees of fertility and sensitivity among individuals; it must be free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects; and it must have no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets, or livestock.

From Prince Philip:

"In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation," Philip told Deutsche Press Agentur in August 1988.

He reiterated his desire to be a catalyst for mass genocide in the foreword to his book If I Were an Animal, released in 1986.

"I just wonder what it would be like to be reincarnated in an animal whose species had been so reduced in numbers than it was in danger of extinction. What would be its feelings toward the human species whose population explosion had denied it somewhere to exist…. I must confess that I am tempted to ask for reincarnation as a particularly deadly virus."

This topic was about purported statements by our Governor. You are wandering way too far afield for a Hawaii or Puna related forum. Please keep your range of discussion to Hawaii and Puna related topics. There are hundreds of sites available for exploring such ideas as you express above, unless you can relate it to Hawaii or Puna this is not one of them. Try again.

Why are we still talking about this? I have read through the whole thread and all I see is that someone said they heard that the governor talked about mandatory immunization. I don't see where this was confirmed, so I assume it is just noise of the type that people strangely like to hear, like about UFOs and bigfoot.

Aloha MarkP,

What the Governor may or may not have said is certainly a worthy PW subject. I have found no evidence to date that our Governor has made any statements implying or suggesting pending mandatory vaccinations with the aid of our National Guard. Who knows?

Still waiting.

<sarcasm>excellent use of moderation</sarcasm>, it can be tied to puna, you apparently just like being the boss of a site, and thats good for you. If you thought outside of the box a little you can see how this directly links to puna however, SLASH away at my posts yet, none of the others before me that went off topic. Also calling the governer's spokesmouth is really good for you but you should really be contacting the person who quoted her in the paper.

What Prince Philip says affects us here in Puna? I think not.

The best thing about this site is that it is Puna/Hawaii only. Otherwise, it would be overrun with the same stuff you can see everywhere else.

808blogger,

It's your job to tie it to Puna and Hawaii, not mine. I am not a defender of the Governor, just looking for some facts. So far the only facts I have found are from the Governor's web site. I have not yet seen any article from which to derive the alleged statements. What I have seen are a lot of broken links and websites which make unsubstantiated claims.

Lastly I want to be perfectly clear... I am not particularly interested in thinking outside the box on Punaweb. I am specifically interested in thinking inside the box.

The confusion stems from items that individually means nothing and combined means nothing unless you want them to mean something that it is not. In that case you pull out what you want, ignore the rest, and make up some statement of fact based on select evidence, which really proved nothing. Normally we would just see it as some nonsensical rambling and that would be that.
BUT,
Unfortunately, the Hawaii County Council in bringing forth Resolution 237, added gasoline, dynamite, and phosphorus to a match. By them doing it, they added some form of "Authoritative” and "Official status" to this looney belief. But dissect Resolution 237 and all you have is some very imaginative people writing resolutions based on more nothing. Even their supposed rationale and reasoning is flawed and not what they claim it to be.

Aloha Bob,

It is relatively entertaining though in it's own strange way.

I will admit if the Governor actually has ranks of National Guard poised to invade Puna and stick me in the arm with a needle I'd like to know about it. However, lacking any evidence of this perceived threat I must for the time being chalk it up to fantasy, possibly pot induced.

I can be assured I guess that if I am wrong and the Vaccination Invasion is about to begin that Councilwoman Naeole and Deputy Councilwoman Hampton will be there to defend us.

No sign lately of the instigator of this subject. Ray?

The CDC reported today (12/10) that approx. 7500 people have died so far from H1N1 and that young people, especially those with underlying health issues are more vulnerable. I have one kid with asthma - and he got vaccinated. My wife is missing part of one lung. She got vaccinated. The rest of us are as soon as we can get it. We get the flu vaccine every single year and have not had the flu since doing so. We see no health risks or "conspiracy" and cannot understand those who stick their head in the sand thinking that diseases will just go away without preventative measures. How about bringing back polio or measles?

BTW, anyone spotted a Bigfoot in Pahoa lately? Smile

Yes, and if you don't vaccinated, you don't get hospitalized, thereby eliminating your gene's from the gene pool[Big Grin]
