As a Canadian, I completely get the Heinz Baked Bean and HP Sauce references, but what the heck is a Branston Pickle? Is it the male equivalent of a Lindsey Lohan?

Just call me Mike,

Given your membership of the Queen's Commonwealth, I am surprised you don't know the history.

The Lindsay clan (that's the correct spelling by the way, although some old historians insist on spelling it O'Loinsigh) were the first to grow and cultivate Branstons, but given the harsh Scottish winters when little would grow, soon learned to pickle them so they kept as a food source all year and went particularly well with aged Scottish cheddar which was of course served to the Highland warriors in their battles with the English.

The rival clans, Hamilton and Paisley, who were in cahoots with the English king, didn't have any Branstons but had the herbs and spices for a sauce that would overpower the most rancid Scottish banger, and supplied the English army with a powerful weapon which meant they could successfully invade and conquer Scotland.

The Kerr clan, in the meantime, were just waiting for Heinz baked beans to be invented.

I suspect Lyndsay Lohen is in London simply to learn about the rich history behind her first name and partake in a new culture.

I'm certain coqui poke would go well with HP sauce, I mean it makes liver and onions quite palatable... (using periods here because I'm running out of commas)
