Aloha-
The Pahoa Pantry and Soup Kitchen completed it's first day of distributing free groceries to the needy (while the soup kitchen was also serving meals) and we gave food to over 90 individuals who represented themselves, their spouses and their entire families. These nice and grateful people in our community received apples, oranges, bananas, rice, pasta, cans of beef stew, vienna sausage, noodles, juices, bread, etc., etc,.., it was the first of many more great days to come and it was a blessing for us all to be there.
Thank you for all who support the program and we welcome the public at any time to come down on Tuesday's and Friday's at the Pahoa Community Center at 4:30 p.m. to take part in FUN, FOOD, and FELLOWSHIP while helping to serve those in need.
God Bless You Alll

Aloha-
The Pahoa Pantry and Soup Kitchen served on Tuesday, April 15 over 80 meals. The meal consisted of beef stroganoff, mixed fresh local greens, white rice, and chocolate swirl cake. We also gave out apples, oranges, and fresh loaves of bread to our visitors. We are now serving, after five years at the Pahoa Community Center, in the restaurant parking lot across the street under the tarp.
Visit us on Face Book and soon Twitter.
God Bless

You said Pahoa Pantry and Soup Kitchen is a 501c3. Now, you say it isn't and is part of a church. Then it isn't a 501c3 since a church has its own tax code 508©(1)(A). There is no other reason to openly claim to be a legal nonprofit if it is not one but commit tax fraud. If the church is claiming it harbors an illegal nonprofit, then the church is an accomplice. Advance warning, all these nonprofit schemes developed around Pahoa are coming to an end.

Instead of making your usual unsubstantiated, false, and libelous claims (ever come up with that video on Ruderman you claim he says he was "anti-science" yet), ripping on good members of our community in various blogs (I can name a few of them) who are doing good work , or a community based program that is doing great work and has been a good standing member of our community for 25 years, find a project that will help the community, be a leader and show us all how you can mobile people and resources to make a difference in Puna. But you are not a Puna leader but a misfit hiding and slinking behind your computer throwing barbs at good people, good programs and those who cannot defend themselves.
Tell you what, lets meet up at their next feeding on Tuesday and we can talk to face to face. Face to face. 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Pahoated-
There were 134 out of 137 non profits this year who applied for grants from the County of Hawaii and received awards totaling $1.5 million dollars. Many of the np's are doing great works and helping those less fortunate, who if you ween't so ignorant and nasty on the subject would see how most of these np's monies are used to make their lives easier. If you were at the Pahoa Malama Market yesterday, you would have seen the HIFB asking for donations (like their team and staff did around the island yesterday in different districts and supermarkets) from shoppers, again if you were actually out there in the trenches instead of hiding anonymously like a coward behind your computer taking cheap shots and spreading false rumors on public forums that hurts these non non profits build the credibility and gain the support needed in the community. The HIFB is not perfect, as we have in the past read, but they are a conduit to help many in the community get food to feed themselves and their families. As one who consults and helps these np's raise money, I am appalled that you continually misstate, lie, and heckle volunteers who are trying to be part of a solution to the problem and needy who are trying to survive.
If you had any guts, meet me at the feeding at the PPSK soup kitchen and when you do look around and see how grateful and appreciative these people are at being fed, which if you were to actually get out there and take a look around, these selfless volunteers have been doing if for over 5 years.
Again, either meet me on Tuesday, or roll up your sleeves and be a leader and find a cause that will make a difference in the community or just plain shut your big mouth and stop spreading lies that hurt every Puna volunteers ability to help in the community for different causes.
As this is Sunday, I am going to say a prayer for that you have a compassion for others and a realization that we all must serve.

Didn't say there aren't good nonprofits. They also tend to be legal and registered. And they can tend to ridiculous heights. The NFL is a nonprofit.
It's the ones that aren't, that resort to a whole pile of drooling psychobabble, that are frauds with this supposed charitable facade up front but being used for other purposes monetarily.
That call out was really stupid, ok, can't say stupid here, how about mush for brains? If this was actually pure philanthropy, then why say anything? If it is a 501c3, then that means money is involved. Now that you are saying the church is responsible for this, then that might need some more investigation over the next few days.
