Definately LUIGI"S next to Garden Exchange. Italian, Mexican, Vegetarian. Yummy stuff. I usually go for the ceaser salad.

If you're referring to the Hilo Burger Joint, I ate lunch there earlier today. Ordered my burger (local beef) rare and fries extra, extra crispy and both were excellent. My wife had a salad there last week and said it was also very good. I'll be playing classical guitar there fridays, November 6th, 20th and 27th from six to eight.

I too vote for Hiro's. They got a lot of my money when I was there last. I often picked up some of their musubi and soyu chicken for hiking fuel for my hikes. It carried well in my pack and I didn't feel there was a big spoilage risk, especially for the higher hikes. Much tastier than the standard power bars and granola. IMHO, it's a great place for a very casual breakfast or lunch. I actually liked the ambiance at breakfast.
