Does anyone know who built, owns and operates the Keaau Farmer's Market referred to? Across from the Keaau Shopping Center.

It's a nicely done facility.
Assume the best and ask questions.

I'll have to admit, after shopping at Keaau Foodland.....I'm not impressed with the prices. The place does look 100% better than before....but I'm still shelling out more money than if I went to Hilo to buy groceries. No one can beat walmart for the food items that they sell and since the shelves are constantly being refilled...turnaround is quick and nothing is on the shelf or in the freezers very long. For fresh meats and produce...I still think Safeway and KTA are the best. You can't beat the savings when you have 4 food centers in Hilo within walking distance of each other in competition for your dollars. And when and if Target is built across from Home Depot....that will be 5!

Doesn't Target only do some dry goods & stuff?

Target sells pretty much what Walmart does. Except they sell wine and beer too!

But, whether or not Target sells beer and wine here will depend on the state laws. I cannot recall seeing beer and wine in the newly opened Target in Kona. The grocery section is not a full fledged super center. They do not carry anything fresh....vegetables, meats, etc. Only frozen and dry goods. Still, probably a huge savings over Safeway and KTA. I buy all of my canned and dry goods at the Walmart in Hilo. It is good to have options.

Kona Target does sell wine and beer. Prices are generally better at KTA though.
