HPP BIZ: Part the second

Paving not entirely finished. Ran into someone I know who lives on 1st. He told me he heard the general manager said there was no contract. That because that rep from district 1 Kawauhua is suing HPP the paving wasn't authorized by the board. So who authorized it? Who signed the check? Uh oh.

Without a contract how would the money be recovered if the work was unsatisfactory dan d?

Probably the way its been done before. If they havent folloed the rules. Which i dont know.

So Leo's information is at best second or third hand or maybe just gossip. I'm no fan of the way HPP has been run the last five years or so, but this is not proof in any way of malfeasance, as much as some of us are ready to believe it.

Well, she has shown some good ideas in terms of transparency and accountability, but with lawsuits flying hither and yon, I don't blame her for remaining silent. I am pretty sure she is still doing the best she can to further those goals.

Meanwhile, my road is in better shape than it's been in at least five years. The grader has been coming through more frequently, and even the mowing has been better. Also, an abandoned car was removed in a reasonable amount of time. (These changes seem to have coincided with the end of the ill-fated and highly questionable chip sealing project, btw.) I'm not saying that the improvement justifies any underhanded dealings, but measurable results speak louder in my world than the usual HPP grousing. Just wait, though, because somebody will pop up here shortly and say, "My road is horrible!" or "People are suffering!" You can always count on that in HPP.

I agree Chunkster.
The streets I drive have been graded regularly. Roadsides and intersections are kept mowed, rarely do I see tall grass blocking my line of sight. I can get from near the ocean to the highway in a few minutes.

I live contentedly in HPP without thinking about HPP 99.99999% of the time.

Your road fee money spent on multiple lawsuits doesn't bother you as long as your roads are graded? Doesn't seem to be the optimum way to manage lot owner money IMO. Neither is having HPP managed by a rogue general manager, rogue director suing HPP and a illegitimate director.
Not all are so lucky in HPP to get regular road maintenance but that's not your problem. According to my 1st hand observation at the board meeting rules weren't followed.

It seems some money was spent on paving roads. macuu222 also didn't mention it was his or her road. It seems our money was used to do what it's supposed to do, and Leo complains about it.
