Greg, the whole quote is:

Roses are red Violets are blue, I'm schizophrenic, and so am I.

Thank-you Rob for being a voice of sanity in this "issue", and for practising the due diligence of researching and supporting your statements. This research is a noteworthy fact, for it's sheer rarity here in puna. Often fear and attention-mongering are the motivating factors in many of the ideas expressed through the coconut wirweless. Everyone wants to be the one who's clued in to the truth before everyone else. But just because a story is sensational and appeals to our prejudices and fears doesn't mean it's more worthy of attention than more factual notions. It just means that these ideas are better suited for becoming urban myths and being published on the blogosphere and in tabloids.

Our government has spent hundreds of billions of dollars and centuries researching efficient ways of killing people, vaccines are IMHO, not the most efficient way of killing off our populace. Measles, smallpox, and particularly virulent forms of influenza are effective. That's why such hard work is being done to eliminate stockpiles of these pathogens that the world's governments have weaponised, because as i think we can all agree, these do in fact kill and maim people. If you really want to do something effective, perhaps striving against biological weapons might be a more meaningfull outlet for your motivations. A noble one. But that would require work. Or maybe you could work with leprosy. Or against the next Republican governal canidate. Or you could rail against voting and government in general, thankfully, we live in a place where someone can stand up in the back of a room and criticise those who affect change and then quietly slink into the shadows.

OR, maybe we're all supposed to get this injections to impart immunity from the weaponised swine flu the government is going to realease on the rest of the world! But if we kill off all the non-americans who is going to mow our lawns and care for our children?
Coming next coquis as biological weapons vectors.

I've had the hardest time convincing people of these simple truths, i intentionally spent about two hours trying to find any DATA supporting these mandatory injections or the "dangers" of vaccines in general, especially as referring to autism. It's all self-referential. There are a couple discredited studies about extinct practises that criticise the efficacy of vaccines. These discredited studies are referred to as if they were handed down by god to be used in public hangings. I'm sorry, but citing another hokey webpage as your source is not a valid way of justifying your viewpoints. It just means you think that cause your friend is crazy too that your ideas are valid. Sounds like Muslim extremist thinking to me? See how quickly we descend into craziness and absurdity? I'm gratefull for irony and sarcasm, because otherwise we would spend a lot of time taking ourselves WAY too seriously. So, please stop attacking Rob, he's been clear and fair. Go beat your dead horse in the woods, or concede gratefully. There are very few here who don't have something meaningfull to say. Say those things, let the fake conspiracies crumble, they and misinformation ARE VERY dangerous for they distract us from the real conspiracies and threats to our way of life. Promoting ignorance is reprehensible because it distracts us from the things we need to be thinking about and acting against.

I always love the critical thinking that this forum manages to pull out of the puna-sphere. It makes for a lovely counter point to the crap spouted by the sungazing, breathatarians i have to scrape off the pavement in the course of a regular puna day.

BTW any CIA, Big Pharma, or Military Industrial Complex agents who want to pay me for my ideas and propaganda can send checks or gov't mint coins to my address directly. You already have my name adddress and all my other information because the satellites are always watching me, and you're monitoriing my emails. Just because you'e paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you, right?

Thanks Hazen, In the midst of this highly charged subject I am trying to keep the focus on the local perspective. Very tempted to write more on the general topic but by my own definition Punaweb is not the place for it.

I do think that everyone is entitled to their opinions and it is not unreasonable to ask for and seek the facts. Regarding the Oct. 14th Advertiser article - actual reading of it did not substantiate any claim for forced vaccinations.

I saw a notice at Safeway today - H1N1 vaccinations available.
Unfortunately it's only for health care workers under 49 and pregnant women (I think).
The charge is $15.

Later I saw that the Puna Community Medical Center also has the shots.

Now why would they restrict access to and charge money for "mandatory" vaccinations?

One sick puppy you are Greg and and me well I'm LMAO! Thanks!

In all fairness though sometimes people with more info or personal experience have a reason to be paranoid. Much paranoia from the 60's has been substantiated to the surprise of a load of people from the "Greatest Generation" so called. Can't blame it all on the Acapulco Gold, a patented name by the way!
