Unfortunately, too many people move here and try to make it into the place they left.
Even more unfortunately, this strategy fits neatly with County's "complaint-driven" enforcement, and there is plenty of "noncompliance" -- much of which is created by the lack of services, and the "Community" "Development" "Plan" that seeks to centralize any commercial activities into "designated" areas (short version: "Drive To Hilo").

I'm with Jackson, some people will complain about anything! They increased bus fair, too. Let's start a forum complaining about that. Oh wait, already done. Keyboard Warriors: will two dollars seriously break your piggy banks? That's soooo much cheaper than any comparable event on the mainland. This is a truly unique event and I wanna thank Uncle Robert and his ohana for sharing their aloha with us! They can't control all riff-raff, but that doesn't make them the responsible party (IE people's tires getting slashed) Just like anywhere else in the world, **** HAPPENS!

its simple if you do not like Uncle Roberts please do not go, if you do not like Locals leave the island , Puna will not miss anyone who hates the place and its native inhabitants, they were always here, they have NO choice but stay, but you have the choice.

It says in the Ke Ola article 'Uncle' Robert's father moved the family down to Kaimu in 1955. As far as the rest of the Hawaiians they came in canoes not so long ago - unsure of an exact date ? I bet Carol - csgray - would know exactly when the Hawaiians showed up on this archipelago.

"Around 300-500 AD Polynesians from the South Pacific, probably the Marquesas Islands,"
"Tahitian explorers arrived in 1200AD and not only conquered the Marquesasians but enslave them."
