McDonalds opens next week on July 12.

Jeans Warehouse (I think they "won" our informal poll for being the mostly likely to close first?) opens on July 9.

I drove there yesterday, for the first time.
If someone had driven me there, blindfolded until we reached the parking lot, you could not have convinced me I was in Pahoa.

One look at Malama Market's prices and you'll remember you're in Pahoa!

McDonald’s is open. I was having a Big Mac attack, so we found it…sort of difficult to find because the only signage we saw, finally after driving thru the entire shopping center, was the drive-thru  sign.  It has a double drive-thru & a new updated menu sign. It sure beats the other burger option in the neighborhood Smile Tongue

I went there today, thinking I was beating the lunch rush, but I think the churches must have just got out because the area was packed. The drive-through line serpentines in such a manner that it blocked every single parking space going all the way back to the UPS store.

I decided to order using the app. I wanted to select "curbside pickup" but I didn't know where it was. I later discovered that it is next to the restaurant and the only way to reach it was to wait in the drive-through line (aka, what is the point?) so I selected to pickup in restaurant. I waited in my car for about 10 minutes parked by Jeans Warehouse because it was the first spot I found unaffected by the cars waiting in drive through line. I went in to check if my order was ready, it wasn't, and there were about 10 orders ahead of me according to their screen. I went back to car for another 10 minutes so I could finish listening to a podcast. When I returned to Mcs the order status screen wasn't working correctly and it was causing a commotion with angry customers waving their receipts in the face of a frightened employee vomiting out apologies. I saw my order on the counter and grabbed it before fast food fisticuffs broke out. As I was leaving I saw that the drive though line had shrunk to maybe 10 cars and most of the parking spaces weren't blocked any more.

Altogether it wasn't the most enjoyable experience, which is a good thing because I try not to eat that crap anyways. I can't wait to go through a similarly frustrating experience when Popeyes opens.

One would think that knowing what the drive through lines look like at every other mall, in building a new one they would strategize the parking lots and vehicle flow to accommodate traffic as efficiently as possible, but instead they seemed to have done the opposite, spending a considerable amount of time concocting a scheme that makes the least amount of sense.

Maximizing use of the parking lot makes the most sense for the developer.
