TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo
We're all waiting to hear what they envision.

This, right here, is my biggest problem with any organized "anti" crowd: they never include constructive suggestions for an alternative to whatever they're against, nor do they consider the possible impacts of that alternative.

"Don't built TMT here on our sacred lands. Build it somewhere else." -- but might that "somewhere else" also be sacred to the people who live there? Does their opinion not matter? Hypocritical, then, to complain when people ignore your opinion...

If anyone else would like to make their voice heard, and share with Congresswoman Gabbard the kind of future you'd like to see, here is her contact page with a comment form, and a list of other ways she can be reached:

I wasn't able to find that interview - do you have a direct link to that HOTPE? Gabbard seems to be positioning herself to appeal to the leftmost wing of the Democrat party - but I'd be interested in hearing exactly what she said...

Mahalo Obie for the link.

So nice to see Tulsi Gabbard from Hawaii at Standing rock standing, protecting, and voicing her opinions. Mr Perez From Hawaii Calling Tulsi Gabbard out on her own states Mauna Kea-TMT project issue may not have been an accident or a coincidence after all but rather planned.

I hope Tulsi Gabbard can stand behind Other important Hawaiian and Hawaiian land issues that may need some time and resolving before the construction of the TMT sits on their Crown lands. jmo

Since it keeps coming up, this is an article about the massive difference between the Dakota pipeline and the TMT:

"The TMT Is Nothing Like The Dakota Access Pipeline"

http://www.civilbeat.org/2016/12/the-tmt...-pipeline/

"DAPL is hazardous to the environment and local water supply. TMT is not. Not by a long shot. In the last 40 years of astronomy on Mauna Kea, there has been zero proof of water contamination and far less environmental impact than ranching, invasive species and the Pohakuloa Training Area military installation. Despite claims to the contrary in the current contested case hearing, there is no risk of mercury spills by TMT as this substance is no longer used. The last mercury spill in the Astronomy District was 25 years ago, and that was inside an observatory building, all but 70 ml (about 5 tablespoons) were recovered, and that probably evaporated. In fact, Hawaii’s volcanic gas puts out about 2 million times that amount of mercury into the air every year."

You can't reason with unreason.
gypsy69 has still not given a response to my question of some time back.
Nor has any "protector" or sympathizer that I've asked.

Maybe your repeatedly demonstrated lack of respect for all things different than yourself has created a situation in which those you have shown the most disrespect towards don't feel your questions warrant a response.

Why would someone that you refer to by saying "you can't reason with unreason" feel motivated to feed the fire you itch to fuel with your bigotry? It's as if you want the freedom to be an a**hole on one hand but not be accountable for it on the other. Whereas in the real world your words stick, they mean something, and people have feelings about them. And, whether or not you want to acknowledge it most of them are negative. I think you'd be well served by learning to appreciate the differences between folks and practicing the art of kindness towards them. Maybe then they might be willing to speak with you.

Are you gypsy69?
Is this how you answer my question? You are just repeating what you said to me before.
You have some serious problems if this is how you talk to those who disagree with you.
Can you answer my questions or arguments?
Apparently not.
Answer my question.
