So I guess you want her to get the maximum and spend time in prison for casting one vote in the wrong district.
If it was as simple as that the Grand Jury would not have handed down an indictment.

the County Prosecutor and State Attorney General are going hot and heavy on white collar crime which cost the state a lot of money in lost revenues
How much did Tiffany cost the state in improperly paid real estate taxes?
How much will the County Prosecutor cost the state in pursuing this case all of the way through to a trial? How much does a 350 page police report cost?
A lot of money. For sure. But who would you say is running up the tab?

Is this how you feel about every case you happen to disagree with?
Here is a question for you and anyone else that may agree with you...if it was reversed and the shoe was on my foot what would you be saying? What would you be demanding of the Prosecutor right now? You would probably be asking him to prosecute me to the highest degree the law allows.

In the meantime this little Vendetta of yours has cost the taxpayers of Hawaii County as much as Billy's hostess bar escapade !

And so perhaps you should file a complaint to Stewart Meada the County Clerk who is the one who brought this case forward to the police not me. Perhaps you should also make a complaint to our hard-working Chief of Police for it was his detective who saw enough merit to turn it over to the prosecuting attorney who immediately rescued himself and handed it to the grand jury. The grand jury looked at it, deliberated, and handed back to the Prosecutor. Oh and congratulation Mitch Roth (if you are reading this or one of your peeps) for doing a fine job for the county.
I don't know how much that cost but it is all paper work and determination to follow the law.

Oh and by the way consider this...1) deterrence factor - sending message to voters on seriousness of voter fraud has value.
A huge police file wouldn't be there if she had done the honorable thing and admitted fault, not hired a expensive attorney to fight it.
Blame the perp for costing the public money, not the members of the public who stand up against crime.

Why would I do that? I only have a couple of objective criteria:
#1 - Don't waste taxpayer (my) money
#2 - Proportionate response and enforcement. For instance, if Tiffany participated in an armed bank robbery, or embezzled money from a keiki sports team, etc. I would like like to see her prosecuted. Or you for that matter, if you did those things. Perhaps if Tiffany had won the election, under false pretenses, it would be appropriate to prosecute. But otherwise, what's the point? Everyone knows what she did, so a trial isn't going to have much, if any effect on her future political aspirations. But, if you believe a stake through the heart rather than handcuffs and leg irons is necessary, perhaps you consider her more skilled and formidable than I do.

I guess it would be Tiffany's attitude towards everyone that really got her into this predicament. She is SO SUPERIOR, after all...

There have been several court rulings that the primary residence is known "in good faith" to the resident. It is where the most time of the year is spent, and more importantly, sleeping. Basically, you damn well know which is your primary residence, otherwise it is perjury or mental illness (dementia, not knowing where you live). This is a case of using one address as the primary residence for tax evasion and another address claimed as primary residence for voter registration. The effort appears to be very deliberate and calculating.
This thing of using Hawaii for primary residence scams is BS. There are several people that abuse this, using something like a Puna parent's home as a local primary agent for a local business, while living elsewhere completely. Things like this do cost tax payers a lot of money providing breaks for non residents. This residence requirement is enforced like a hammer on college residents. What kind of example is it for some apologists to poo-poo abuse on the local adult and business level?

If we really wanted to enforce 100% compliance of all rules and regulations in effect here, it would require the entire population of the Big Island to be employed as Hawaii County investigators and inspectors. Is that what you want? Otherwise, where do you draw the line?

Tiffany needs to beat this in court, and not let Roth sweep it under the rug. Otherwise her reputation will always have the smell of guilty, but because of special treatment she got off.
