A bill to raise the speed limit on Saddle Road
#61
I agree that it would be wrong to willfully and deliberately prevent others from passing, but if you are driving within the posted max and min then others do not have a legal basis for complaint. If someone is truly tailgating then it would be prudent to pull over and let them speed by just as it would be prudent to give up the right of way in any other scenario rather than demand right of way and get into an accident. This is different than being considerate of others.

Sorry Lodestone .. Some advice is throw hazards on. A crazy one in Baja is put on LEFT turn signal to indicate safe to pass, unless of course you are turning left, whereby you will be run over ... LOL.

If I see a car coming up fast behind, I just put my RIGHT signal on and edge over + slow if need be, even tap brakes to show my commitment to letting them go. They take the bait everytime with a toot and shaka.

Hope the weather this year better. So much fog and rain last year. Couldn't see nothing!!

Hey maybe THATS the reason, they not tailgating, just cannot see and hoping to simply hitch on ... LOL.

Rain X is a pretty neat product that really works if any one wants to give it a shot. Works best over say 30mph. Will make some wiper blades squeak though 'till it wears off. Great to use on side and rear as well.

My opinion is that the speed limit is to slow for most sections on the saddle road. The speed limit should be raised to 65 or maybe even 75 miles an hour in most places. The police could lower their grace or speed allowance over the new speed limit to say 5-10 miles an hour over the speed limit. In return of loss police revenue due to (less tourist tickets) they could purchase three of these lasor guns and go after tailgating with high price tickets, jmo.

The matching Fog X (for inside the windows) is also pretty neat.

Never tried it. Does it work better than keeping them squeaky clean ? Serious question.

Not sure; all I know is that I FogX'd the inside of the last car I bought and it was like magic.

Hi Pog

Yeah, that seems to work OK. If it doesn't I'll just keep slowing down until I can pull over. Then I'll speed up after they pass and follow them... first car always gets the speeding ticket. Win-win!
