Cruise ship arrivals are in the Monday paper every week just below the arrest report.You can plan on which days to stay away from Walmart and Target.The Pride of America is in Hilo every Tuesday.

No it does not. Choosing to wear a mask means the wearer is both less likely to contract any germs AND less likely to transmit any. That's why a mask is put on a patient at check in in the hospital if they have a respiratory illness. It's also why masks are required in many Asian countries currently so that people cannot go around contaminating surfaces and other people. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Would be a good theme for people who travel during a global pandemic. Its like having risky sex with unknown partners or playing russian roulette. You just never really know whats going to happen.
Then there are the other folks who know the real risks yet from the safety of their keyboard give false information to encourage others to practice in unsafe behavior in hopes that they can witness the carnage from afar. Sort of like an arsonist who sets buildings on fire then calls the fire department to report it. motivation of all sorts can be seen during a time of crisis. Just like masks.. we all know they work to a certain degree. we also know that there is a shortage. We also know that health workers are going to need as many as they can get their hands on as it seems were heading into the mitigation stage of this pandemic. Grand princess may or may not have positive Covid infections. But if it does it would be nice to know how many of the passengers got off the ship, how many people were transported to where and the average time those people were left to roam around. It could provide us with some data on how many people locally were infected. Not that we can stop it, but at least give a time line of when things are really going to get bad like they are now in Seattle and other areas around the country.

Now it's headline on Washington Post that cruise ships out of California are spreading COVID-19. Don't have subscription so can't copy link. But I can only surmise:
1. Ige and crew fear that the economic loss from lack of tourism will be a greater loss to either themselves personally or to all of us. 2. It's been decided that the virus will spread regardless so no need to inhibit the growth and spread of the floating virus petri dish cruise ships coming in and out of Hawaii. So then for the love of sanity stop with the media rhetoric including needing millions or billions of $$$ to fight the spread.

Any halfway decent public health department is going to track the past movements of infected people and share them with other relevant agencies. All of the suspected cases on cruise ships that stopped in Hawaii should be asked, "Did you go ashore, and if so, where did you go?" Whether this happens or not is anyone's guess, but I don't have a lot of confidence in Hawaii officials to take proper steps to keep a lid on things.

Not true -- HRS 150 says only that you "must declare", not that you "must fill out the form".

Quest Diagnostics (they are in Hawaii) will be able to test for the virus starting on Monday. This means that for the first time, anybody who needs/wants to be tested CAN be tested. So I expect that the first cases in Hawaii will be announced soon.
