Here are some things to try which have worked for me.
If you have an area where mosquitoes congregate like a dark corner or by the door where an animal sleeps you can make a simple trap.
Take a 5 gallon paint strainer (any place that sells paint) and put it over a 12 inch oscillating fan, Mosquitoes are sucked through the fan and get stuck in the net. You can also stitch one of these strainers on a coat hanger made into a hoop and scoop mosquitoes that are flying around you.
By the way:
I have a garden fogger but it doesn't seem to work. I suspect the US has outlawed any chemical that actually works, because these are very effective in SE Asia.
Amazon has garlic oil, but I am not sure if it is just a repellent or insecticide. The write up is unclear, stay tuned I ordered a quart.
We are not own our own , we have each other.

Well Dory, it's not an "or" proposition. Complaining to the government may help in the long run but people can do something right now both for themselves and everyone around them (there's that neighborly aloha you crave) by covering up and getting rid of standing water.
Waiting for the government to help you, in this case, is not a good idea.
You can go back to fighting against renewable energy now.

most of their priority was going to setting up the medical marijuana system
Delaying implementation of the MMJ retrofit will not prevent anyone from getting marijuana.
I do not see how the community can deal with a problem like Dengue without the full assistance of the government.
Apparently we're just going to have to find a way, because that's what we have.

I would be interested in a non pesticide mosquito killer that works. I did extensive research on them a year ago and even the ones with the hormone baits were rated very low by those who had tried them. If you find a link to one can you please post it?
We bought a couple of these. It clearly kills bugs (you can see them in the trap) and some of them are mosquitoes, but is by no means a cure-all. Still, every dead mosquito helps.

Interesting. Does it attract and kill pantry moths?

Dunno. Don't have that particular pest. Contrary to what is now on the Amazon page, we use ours outside, just out of the rain (under the lanai, and under the stairs). The instructions clearly OK outside use (if out of the rain) so not sure what they are on about.

This website just posted a map showing places people who are confirmed as having dengue visited while infectious.
