Spin Launch goes around in circles with Ka'u

-no they didn't. They advertised the project like they were selling a George foreman grill.
What disappoints me is that you haven't addressed your claims that SpinLaunch is a fraud,
-I thought i just did. Materials dont exist to make it workable.
that the people that work for them are no better than high-school physics students, and that a lackluster video in any way invalidates the feasibility of the project.
-its likely based on their testbed system.
And finally, sorry, saying "a small group of people" is not racist and is not a keyword for anything, it says exactly what I meant. If you want to interpret it in your own way, then fine, but you are wrong.
-not interpretation, observation from public reaction.

When did one person become the public?

And if the island never sees a dime from SpinLaunch, it's nothing to do with the company, it will be due to the attitude of the state government and all the politicians in Honolulu who haven't the foresight to realize that because of our proximity to the equator we really could command the big bucks for tickets.. leases.. and make the moves it would take to compete with Florida's infrastructure.

They did, or at least said at the time, in the '80s, they did. Remember when we had The Office of Space Industry and a Space Czar? Remember when the feds, in '89, came in and were going to put some sort of space port in themselves?

And then more recently, of course, we had those folks from Alaska trying to turn Mac nuts into..

I watched the vid (I usually don't), it's interesting, but I think it bolsters my point that we don't have what a budding industry really needs, the infrastructure. But, when they actually get to a full-scale proof of concept, and are ready to rock 'n roll.. sure they certainly might find a place here... if we.. ie our political guys.. want it to be. But for some reason I doubt they do.

I think a spaceport is a great idea. So much so I think we, the citizens, through state, should build a facility.. a big one. Do one of them massive public/private investments affairs, get Elon, or Jeff to pony up some real money, and build the thing already. The clientele, the rocket companies, they're gonna be a dime a dozen bumbai.. and if the price of escaping our gravity is that much cheaper here than any other US territory.. shoots.. it's a no brainer.. but..

Whatever happened to our Space Czar?

Kander - you've made a testable claim - "not interpretation, observation from public reaction."

Show us the public reactions to my statement that aren't from you or 'elepaio.

Let's just table this until they actually fling something into space.

fling something into space.

I’m optimistic.
If some of the people on this thread can toss baseless arguments into thin air, SpinLaunch might shoot something out there too.

Not after covering "overhead"...

Might be a great way to evade ballistic missile launch detection. A great compliment to our military spy telescopes and space lasers!

If you want to quote me, then quote me properly. Don't put words in my mouth. It's unethical and downright dishonest.
