Puna cliffs
#11
Thanks for all your kind comments, everyone. One or two of you mentioned Kincaid and strangely enough until a couple of days ago when someone else mentioned him I had never heard the name or knew about his pictures. I don't think my photos compare to his paintings but perhaps we just love the way things look in both early and late light. Anyway, he's really good and I'm just learning.

There are a couple more pictures from that morning on my blog but they're nothing like the one linked above - that was a moment I was very lucky to capture. Since I'm no longer working at the summit of Mauna Kea anymore and won't be taking too many pictures from up there, I'm hoping to spend a little time capturing the beauty of Puna. We'll see how that goes.

Mahalo again,
Tom

I haven't taken a lot more pictures of the Puna coastline, but there are one or two more you might like to see in this very short flickr slide show - only nine pictures and be aware I'm still experimenting with a new camera!

Hope you enjoy them.

Very Nice Tom, What is the exposure time on the last two? About 1/2 sec.? Hope you post more, nice to see!

Just about spot on, Royall, 0.4 secs in both cases. It appears to be a good exposure time for capturing the movement of the water without smoothing it out too much.

Thank you, Aline! There is actually a photography club in Hilo (I wouldn't have the time to run one!). I was asked by a friend to go along but just haven't had the time so far. The URL is http://hilophotoclub.org/Home.html
