Now, between the ethics complaint against Yagong, and these lawsuits, WTH happens now? (Besides the $$$ this will cost us taxpayers!!! [
!])
Can't even start to understand why Yagong didn't recuse himself long ago from chair position(only answer is ego, IMO). Not to mention, no other council person even attempted to have him removed. Beyond comprehension.
I actually feel sorry for his daughter!

How quaint these "elections" will seem when the next president enacts martial law...

And, the audience watches after paying for their tickets, popcorn, candy and sodas, crying, can't change the ending, and when leaving the theater, wondering if there's a sequel which will cost more than the original.
I'm buying a flask to shove down in my boot for the next showing.
Great analogy, pahoated. Perfect. (as in "Storm". j/k)
Kelena, hit the nail on the head, again. JMO.

Where are the rest of our elected "leaders" on this, it's their responsibility?

FYI: Star Advertiser Article (this morning):
Hawaii clerk vows readiness for elections
Jamae Kawauchi has faith in her ability despite criticism of the botched primary
By Leila Fujimori
POSTED: 01:30 a.m. HST, Oct 02, 2012
Hawaii County Clerk Jamae Kawauchi, who has endured a firestorm of criticism for her handing of the primary election, admits she has made errors but promises to press ahead and ensure the general election Nov. 6 goes smoothly.
"I apologize for my mistakes," she said in an extensive interview at the Star-Advertiser offices last week. "I will accept responsibility but I cannot accept complete responsibility."

What a joke! Too much. Can NOT believe this continues, and she's still employed by us taxpayers.
Royall, good bloody question. (re: voting cans)
Where does the ethics complaint stand against Yagong, anyone? Jamae was like a doberman (or pit bull) on a lunge line at that last ethics commission meeting. Unbelievable. ALL of it. UGH!

Finally. A little hope.

And this:
The state Office of Elections said at a press conference this morning that it would be taking over the operations of the November general election in Hawaii County because of a lack of confidence in the county clerk.

It certainly is about time.
Unfortunately, the 8 remaining member of our elected tax paid Council COULD have fixed this situation, but, as usual, they sat back and did nothing.
They protected and defended a lame duck Chairman and his grossly inept Clerk.
As such, the State really had no alternative.
Now, what we really need to do is make damn sure that we elect Poindexter, Ilagan and David and their opponents be sent packing. We absolutely as voters need to guarantee the Chairman’s daughter no seat at the table – as well as and especially Ford. Any good she has ever done, is doing or could ever do has been tossed in the garbage can over her blind support of all of this.
I would also support the immediate arrest, as well as total incarceration without bail until AFTER the election - of the Clerk and the Chairman should either one of them try to interfere with the State in anyway whatsoever.
This embarrassment has gone on long enough - and simply needs to end. NOW!

So Ken, just where do you stand on the election doings?
Assume the best and ask questions.
