Agree with 2liveque and bluesboy posts, Chinese restaurants in Hilo are mediocre at best, which is sad!

Hilo Rice Noodle in Kinoole Plaza, looked it up, has good reviews so will give it a try.
Home page has photos of some of their dishes, Menu http://hiloricenoodle.biz/index.html

Also came across a review for Kilauea Market apparently they have recently opened a dining area upstairs?

Though there are no drop every thing, this is it! spectacular Chinese, there are quite a few that locals of Chinese decent like... and most are fairly good, fairly even in service & quality (that alone is a statement... many restaurants here suffer from a very uneven delivery of service &/or quality)

For one of the best seating & view restaurants in Hilo happens to be Chinese fare, that would be Sky Garden at Imiloa...nothing said about the food... it is just good, standard fair...

POG -- Not L&L the greasy spoon....but L&L chopstick express. Obviously you have not been to an L&L, but each have a hot table with chinese items available.

I forgot about Sky Garden.....yes, pretty good food. But still, not the knock your socks off variety. But If I gotta rate them, Hilo Rice Noodle and Sky garden would be tops in HIlo for me.

L&L doesn't run on a "three-ring binder", so the steam tables at each location may have tiny variations. Notably, the mochico chicken in Keaau is different (better!) than all other L&L locations.

Has anyone tried a West Coast L&L?

"One Plus One" is where we do Chinese. They are located near the Waiakea Food Court by Walmart, not in the WFC. Gotta go to Honolulu if you want better authentic Chinese cuisine.

We used to go to L&L in San Pablo, California. We loved it, like a mini trip to Hawaii. Now that we live here, we still like L&L, but not for Chinese.
