""The large numbers of people that go missing are astounding in this area""
haha! total BS! ONE person is now officially missing from all of lower Puna, we just dont know which one he is as of yet... and he prob just fell when a lava shelf gave way...

"""Per capita, the island is on pace with places like NYC for missingpersons."""" Big Fat crock of ****ttt here"
"""The problem is real and young kids are disapearing weekly from this area."""""" show me bullitins of 5 in the last 5 weeks please... cant cause its not true!! aka a lie!!
our islands missing kids are usually locals and 'runaways', and they are all found eventually, and yes alive at their friends home in Kona...

"""a young lady detailed her account of an alleged abduction and drugging she suffered."""" this so called lady was obviously delusional, and really should have laid off the 'shrooms
"""I don't know but it had a certain ring of truth too it.""" lol if it 'rings' its true lol thanks for the belly laugh and side ache

"""a large group of people enjoying a bonfire but why would they all be wearing matching white cloaks?"""
haha lol, why stop here with JUST white cloaks?? try for alien abduction next time to reel us all in on this horse****tt of a fabricated fable!!

PS... on Hana, love the hike around the back side of the community center through the cemetery to that little red sand beach at bottom of that cinder cone... beautiful unique spot far diff form anywhere else in state IMO

The so-called cults in this area is absolute BS. We have a few religious fractions down here (Hare Krishnas, Pagans, Wiccans, Ancient Alien Nuts), and you can consider a few of them somewhat cult-like, but it's certainly not groups that mysteriously wander around Puna and do sacrifices or anything. They're mostly just scattered groups of crazy hippies that went off the cliff of spirituality. Worst thing they'll do is serve you a vegetarian pizza or bore you with religious nonsense. People that get killed in Kalapana get killed over money/drugs/territory

Well in defense to the missing persons, and further reading on this site led me to this link http://damontucker.com/missing/ which does show a hand full of missing folks.

There are even comments claiming there is a human trafficking ring on the island?!?!? That's nuts, any input on that?

Never heard of the human trafficking. Id assume it happens in Oahu, but never heard of it here. There's rumors down here that Eastern European mafia is in the area, and they are indeed infamous worldwide for human trafficking.

As for missing people, nothing new to big island. People go missing in Kalapana and Milolii every year. No flight records to indicate they left the island, yet missing for YEARS and never found. Makes you really wonder. Also consider that 99% of these missing people get very little local attention. You wouldn't believe the amount of people that have still not heard of the Boaz/Brittany murder. For that matter, there's a lot of locals just now finding out about the Japanese tourist.

Don't be fooled by the lack of drugs, chanting, and funny costumes: Punaweb is a cult.

I know Damon Tucker on Hawaii News and Info has a list of 28 people missing on this island since 1/1/2012.Looking at the pics alot of them are young people.I know sometime he doesnt get some of the people off the list that that arent misssing anymore but if half the people are still missing that is alot for this island.
