Disposal of old propane cannisters?

Snorkle is right on about Steve's Pahoa battery and Propane, They will take it for free and you can buy a new one there as well. The OCEAN should not be an option. How about the (Geothermal relocation funded) Pahoa dump or recycling, wouldn't they take them?.

Oneself -- I won't throw it in the ocean while they are filming Hawaii Life. It's so tempting though because they float. And everyone else gets to throw stuff in the ocean. I mean, there's a whole plane in there somewhere. I didn't put that in there. I won't mention some of the stuff that gets thrown in the ocean around here. I'm wondering why all the sudden I have to be the pristine one and everyone else gets to throw stuff in the ocean and in China they throw so much stuff in they drove some dolphin in some river to extinction. I think I'm gonna throw them in the ocean unless someone can tell me why everyone else gets to throw stuff in the ocean and I can't and how my not throwing it in the ocean will make things better. Maybe someone is IN the ocean and they need a flotation device. Also, I'm thinking if they caught some fish, they would have a way to cook it (if they had a match). And then they could use the tank to propel themselves to shore like Sandra Bullock did when she was careening from escape vehicle to escape vehicle in gravity. I'm thinkin' ocean.

Kelena, a few more suggestions you (or almost anyone else) may not have considered:

If you throw them in the ocean off a cliff, please don't hit any opihi pickers.
If you've got a good arm and can fling the containers out farther, please don't aim for the turtles.
If you toss 'em out at the beach, stay clear of any keiki...

But it's almost my birthday and I can do whatever I want. Also, I want to test my theory that polynesians arrived here from the area we now know as West Hollywood using nearly spent propane tanks as flotation devices. The people down in Seaview look A LOT like the people in West Hollywood. Gonna write a book about my theory and then have someone else test it out. People will remember the adventure (someone else's, 'cause I have no intention of riding across the ocean on on a propane cannister), but forget the cockamamie theory.

If you must put in the ocean; Paint it to look like a sick whale and take it to Kehena.......The good folks there will help you push it back into the water.
