Tiffany Edwards Hunt running for Council

Everyone knows about your grudge with Tiffany. Nobody's perfect. I'm still wondering who is going to be the bigger person, ie.(Let it go and move on).

Snorkle,

I'm not running for council... Tiffany is.
Assume the best and ask questions.

It's OK for anyone, even a politician, to change their mind about a strategy. Flexibility isn't a dirty word.
It's not a strategy. A political strategy is generally an approach that stays in the back room with the advisors and as long as it does so, it can be adapted with less backlash about flip-flopping.

It's a publicly announced commitment. Not OK to blow with the wind on those.

snorkle, I don't know where you picked up your idea of political realities, but your idea that candidates can flip-flop at will about anything they choose and evade criticism for doing so -- is not at all borne out by history.

Zendo's not running either. (By the way, in the interest of full disclosure, I gave Zendo $5 last election)

So a better candidate would be.........RJ Hampton? She has no blog, and as far as I know hasn't pissed Rob off.

Here's a political reality Kathy;

Q; When is it OK for a politician to change their mind?

A. When you agree with them.

Example; A Senator who comes out in favor of Gay Marriage after a lifetime of opposition. (You have NO right Senator!) Hahaha

snorkle,
from what I have heard Rob say here, he has talked about situations where Tiffany pursued outcomes that were to her and her family's financial benefit, in the name of serving the community.

How is this not a valid critique of a candidate who claims to be all about serving the community? Why should Rob let it go? Because any criticism of the candidate you support should be swept under the rug labeled as a vendetta?

You do not serve your chosen candidate well by urging Rob or anyone else to stop voicing their opinion. A worthy candidate will come out and speak to the criticism in an open forum, and won't rely on supporters who repeatedly try to shame people into silence.

snorkle, that's a completely faulty analogy, as well as side-stepping my point.

Snorkel, you've made all these statements about RJ and I but I bet you wouldn't say those things to our face. You cowardly hide behind your user name which gives the confidence to say such nonsense things. Just pure nonsense.

And Snorkel here is a little more that you need to digest...After I got off the floor laughing it occurred to me...I am okay with what you said. It doesn't mean that you are right and it doesn't mean that the things you said are true. The fact of the matter is that you feel that way and you said them what am I suppose to do argue with you? And it is okay if you want to apologize later I know you had a hard time getting over your shock at the things I was saying but you will. I read something a long time ago about LBJ. A reporter asked the President why he always accuses his opponents of 'having sex with animals'? And he replied "cause I like to see them defend themselves."

So Snorkel, flop around like a dead fish yammering untruths I hope it works for you cause you are hella funny. I mean HELLA FUNNY!.

I didn't say Rob should let it go Kathy. I said I wondered who would be the bigger person and let it go........Could be Tiffany.

My analogy is not faulty Kathy. A politician has every right to change their mind. An electorate has every right to reject said politician if they don't agree.

She cannot possibly refuse to disclose "donors' on her blog after proclaiming her candidacy. That is entirely different from advertising. Could you imagine any politician doing so any not running afoul of campaign donation laws? Ethics anyone?
Agree, leilanidude.

snorkle said Tiffany could at any time change the name of BIC to Hunt for Puna. Yes, but if she did, the blog would then be considered political, all of it, and the proceeds from the advertising and the donations would I think be campaign contributions.

Tiffany has said many times that the small income from the blog is used to support herself and her family. Campaign contributions can't be used for personal expense or support, can they?

I agree with leilanidude. Tiffany is stepping into murky waters using BIC to promote her candidacy if utilizing the money that comes in for personal support. Plus she should submit accounting of the money as a form of campaign funding. I hope she is on top of that.
