lol, yes they have a right and won't go to jail for it. However you are agreeing with me that the voting public can be critical of such decisions.

Your analogy was faulty, because "changing one's mind" is too broad. I am talking about something specific. I am talking about self-imposed ethical standards for conducting a campaign with certain boundaries of conduct.

Your analogy was of a politician who evolves into a different stance on what is moral and legal for citizens to do and what legislation is appropriate. Change in such areas is perfectly ethical, although it may not sit well with the old party allies or specific voters. Change in belief systems over time is a sign of openness to alternative positions.

Changing your rules for yourself in a month or so after you announce them and not bothering to say why is completely different, apples and oranges with your example.

Zooming the analogy out into such a general sphere as "changing one's mind" is a faulty logical move. Any time you obliterate the distinctions in a point, you are not thinking analytically.

Knowing how Tiffany operates, I am quite sure she will have complete, competent, proper and total accounting of all funds with respect to her blog, her campaign fund and her families business.

I wonder if the good Doctor Cunningham and RJ have all proper mechanisms in place to report their campaign funding activities - because with this group, you just never know!

Did anybody put down the 3rd grade playground grudge book and read Tiffany's comments?

Makes a whole lot of perfect sense to me to read what it is she said.

But who cares about what's good or makes sense for Puna.

I know you and Tiffany; it saddens me to see this level of vindictiveness in either one of you. It saddens me that one incident can overshadow the tremendous good that both of you have achieved in our community.

I would like to point out (again) that Tiffany Edwards Hunt banned Rob Tucker from her site for asking about some very basic and simple journalistic standards regarding by-lines and identifying op-ed vs. news reporting. After banning him, she had the nerve to come on Punaweb and threaten people with defamation action for criticizing her journalisitic style. That was not only more bad journalism in a sort of perverse way, but a sign of some serious character deficiencies.

It doesn't surprise me that she's now crossing her own line in the sand when it comes to blogging and running a campaign website. As Rob Tucker and others have said, she has a history of going after whatever her personal interests dictate.

Seriously, my criticism is she won't listen to constructive criticism.
Tiffany, with this post, you are demonstrating my point.

I was shocked to see how little substance is on the political site. It's mostly pictures of her hugging people and pictures of her signs and stickers being displayed, and posts about how she makes her signs.

I was hoping to see some kind of focused discussion on how she thinks she can achieve goals. Which of the many things her constituents want does she plan to fight for? All of them? What about when they want the opposite of each other?

Even though I obviously don't think she is ready to be a Council Member, I did expect to see less fluff than what is posted now.

I was also kind of horrified to see the equivalent of Facebook post Daily Affirmations and Deep Thoughts posted on a serious political site:

There lies the problem. If it's not too late you need to run. I probably don't agree with a lot of your political views but I don't think you're nuts. I'll even donate. As it stands now the residents are only left a choice of voting for the candidate who is the least crazy. I guess that's novel in that voting for the lesser of two (or more) loons is different from the normal election in which you vote for the lesser of two evils.
