And yet, once again, I say, there are some truly warped people here.
Look around. Of all the declared candidates, Tiffany has the best chance of winning. I wish we voted for the President of the United States and each member of congress with the same petty scrutiny some of you have put forth. What next, "Tiffany show us your birth certificate?" And while I absolutely detest any and all things religion, I am struck at the sincerity of this quote: “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” — Buddha

Since you put it out there I asked RJ if she would hire me and she responded by saying "No, I would hire someone smarter then myself and smarter then you and smarter then half of the people you are talking to on this blog." Is that you Ken? Have you any experience in writing successful legislation?

quote: First, I must now say, you seem to be technically challenged with respect to making a reply to a particular post. Perhaps maybe you were technically challenged when you launched your "Tiffany shut her website down because of my post" rant?? With respect to having experience in writing legislation - I would have to say no - I do not. I am a degreed lawyer however, admitted in Massachusetts, Illinois, California and Arizona, but not here in Hawaii. I am also not too worried about RJ ever being elected.

Came across this little gem:
http://www.gofundme.com/8ktfrw Tiffany is asking for campaign funding on the crowd sourcing site, GoFundMe.com Maybe she thinks it "cute" to not use capitalization or paragraphs. (And she claims to be a journalist and editor?) @KathyH - you are right about her campaign site. Very odd indeed. Plus, the font is nearly unreadable.

Tomk,
I believe the reference of "blog" refers to the punaweb forum. Some less internet-savvy folk tend to ignore the difference between the two. That is, blog and forum.

Re the astrology advisor thing, I wouldn't overblow it by bringing in Reagan and Hitler. This is just County Council, not world leaders being led by mumbo jumbo.
As the subject is back for the moment, and TomK asked me a question way back there, I'll answer now and say I don't the extent of the personal advisor status, and here is what I have personally observed or discussed in that area. As I said, I told Tiffany I thought this astrologer was irresponsible. She is not writing for entertainment value. She is more giving political advice and is dead serious about it. Tiffany replied she thought she was good (as I said already). Later on, I saw Tiffany tell someone to check out this astrologer, as she had been very helpful to Tiffany on the level of personal readings or advice, something like that. The comment made an impression on me, because I then had a light bulb moment of getting why Tiffany was entirely closed to any critique of her newspaper column astrologist. It was because she was also her personal astrologer. I've had at least one conversation with Tiffany where she said some period of time we were in was going to be screwed up regardless because of a planetary aspect -- either Mercury retrograde or moon void of course, or both at different times. Tiffany doesn't know how to do astrology firsthand, so she must be taking on someone else's comments. The deal with moon void of course is you are not supposed to start anything or make decisions until it passes. It occurs at the end of every 2-3 day period that the moon transits a sign, and there are daily astro calendars that list it. Mercury retrograde can go on for a month or so, and during that time, people blame miscommunications and any mess up regarding mental work or communications on the (apparent) backwards motion of Mercury. The problem with this is people don't look at the issues causing the communication breakdowns. It's just "oh well, Mercury is in retrograde, nothing to be done until it's direct again." I just believe that when your job depends on communications and correspondence, that it's important to look at the process analytically. As in, did that turn into a clusterf*ck because I opened my mouth and inserted foot? What insight is gained if I shrug it off as Mercury's fault? What about abstaining of moving forward because the planets are not favorable? In personal life, no biggie, but when your decisions involve lots of other people, it's not so benign. Tiffany also tends to see things "as a sign" when she reads them or runs across some quote or whatever that feels perfect to her. I understand the mindset very well, as I was much the same in my hippy days in the early 70's, except I was in my early 20's at the time and trying to figure out my life direction in a culture that was uncharted. Tiffany is in her 30's and running for a Council position, and I think it is, to borrow a word from oink, on the loony side to be making daily decisions based on portents and readings. Although, hey, the ancient Romans governed according to portents, and we know how well it worked out for them. [8D] |
